Backstory

Songs take on a life of their own. Christmas On the Radio started as a song written by Chris Payne and Cosmin Marica, who had been in a band together called quaad H, which broke up.

Cosmin then met Adam Kesselhaut due to a wrong number when Cosmin was trying to reach someone else for recording in his studio. The two guys hit it off with each other over the phone, quickly realizing that they both shared an obsession with songwriting. Cosmin needed a new partner anyway, so they called their new project Q.AGE, a derivative of the original band name.

Adam, as always, was quick to complain about the lyrics to Christmas On the Radio. Realizing its potential, he re-wrote the song lyrics.

At a trade fair in the Musikmesse, in Germany, Adam and Cosmin met Malcolm Toft, who invited them to record his house in Torquay, England. Malcolm gained fame developing studio equipment and doing recording work on Beatles songs and Queen, T-Rex, and David Bowie at Trident Studios as the partner of Tony Visconti. Therefore, it was a great honor.

Please note that Christmas On the Radio was written from the heart. With an American father and German mother, Chris Payne, and Cosmin Marica from Transylvania in Romania, are both Christian and humbly enjoy the Christmas holidays with their respective families in Würzburg, Germany. Adam Kesselhaut struggled emotionally to live as a Jewish man in Germany. He made a promise to his family to enjoy Christmas as a means of making peace for himself. Writing this Christmas song helped him.

This Malcolm Toft version of Christmas On the Radio circulated in German radio before the music streaming revolution. Adam and Cosmin had sent a CD of Christmas On the Radio to hundreds of radio stations in Germany and England, landing it in Christmas playlists for three years. However, the song was never released by a music label.

Now, we use NFT to create a new release for this evergreen Christmas song. Some of the money we raise with these NFTs will be used to promote a proper release of the song. Types of promotion will include radio, print, online, social media, and guerilla PR promotions. The more established Christmas On the Radio becomes, the higher the NFT value will grow.

We commit to donate 10% of earnings from this collection of NFTs to the charity to help people in need and make a difference in the world.

Lyrics

Christmas On the Radio
by Cosmin Marica, Chris Payne, and Adam Kesselhaut

Verse 1
Past the Frozen Windowpane
Seize the world my eyes
The first snowflakes are falling down
And so the winter claims the ground

A Christmas wish that comes to mind
Jingle bells that capture time
and you come here to be with me
To kiss me by the Christmas tree

Refrain
Ride a one-horse open sleigh
Past children playing in the snow
Dreaming that it’s me you miss
When you hear Christmas on the radio

Verse2
The morning star is shining bright
As beautiful as you, my dear
The twisted flames turn in the night
Boy (Girl) I want you near

Daring such a game to play
Your little steps in the snow are clear
Yes, I think they lead my way
Lord!!!

Refrain
Ride a one-horse open sleigh
Past children playing in the snow
Dreaming that it’s me you miss
When you hear Christmas on the radio

Verse 3
Past the frozen windowpane
Seize the world my eyes
The first snowflakes are falling down
and so the winter is so nice

Daring such a game to play
Your little steps in the snow are clear
and yes, I think they lead your way
Home to you!

Refrain
Ride a one-horse open sleigh
Past children playing in the snow
Dreaming that it’s me you miss
When you hear Christmas on the radio
